The courts of St. Petersburg decided to expel 418 migrants from Russia in a week

The head of the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg, Daria Lebedeva, said in Telegramthat 418 foreigners will be forcibly expelled from Russia for violating migration laws. According to her, such decisions were made this week by the district courts of St. Petersburg.

Ms. Lebedeva added that the courts also fined 48 people for violating migration laws. They must leave Russia on their own within five days from the date the court ruling comes into force.

According to Ms. Lebedeva, from March 25 to March 29, St. Petersburg courts received 584 materials on cases of administrative offenses under the article on violation by a foreigner of the rules of entry or residence in the Russian Federation (18.8. Code of Administrative Offenses). Of the 584, the courts considered 515 materials.

Previously, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg reported about a large-scale vehicle inspection carried out on March 29. According to the department, during the checks the police identified several hundred administrative offenses, of which about 300 were related to violations of migration legislation.

In St. Petersburg, security measures were strengthened after the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow on March 22. That day, a group of armed men burst into the concert hall. They opened fire on visitors and also started a fire. As a result, 144 people were killed and more than 500 were injured. As part of the criminal case, 11 people were detained, including four alleged terrorists who are citizens of Tajikistan.
