Earlier, during the investigation, the FAS revealed an unreasonable increase in the cost of services by mobile operators in 2022. It affected 44.5 million subscribers.
FAS stated that the increase in tariffs in the absence of technological, economic and other justification violates the interests of consumers. The agency also issued a corresponding order to reduce tariffs.
The companies tried to appeal the decisions and orders of the service, but the court of first instance upheld the position of the agency.
Mobile operators consider it necessary to raise communication prices annually by 5% above inflation. The FAS recommendation is now in force, according to which the cost of communication services may vary within the inflation rate.
In mid-April, operators complained to the head of the Ministry of Finance, Maksut Shadayev, about a sharp rise in the cost of connecting communication equipment to the power grid, warning of an increase in tariffs for subscribers and a slowdown in network construction.
