He plans to appeal against the ruling
The Moscow City Court declared insane a member of a gang of “black realtors” who took away housing from lonely elderly residents of the capital. 48-year-old Sergei Gavrilyuk (surname changed) played an important role in the gang – he donated his medicines to the brokers, with the help of which the killers lived the unfortunate old people out of the world.
As MK once reported, lawyer Anatoly Fursov, who was arrested in absentia in Russia, is suspected of organizing a gang, and, according to some reports, is hiding in Spain. In 1997, he opened a private company called the Metropolitan Guild of Conscientious Rent-Takers. The main activity of the company is the care of lonely elderly people in exchange for re-registration of housing. True, it looked beautiful only on paper. In fact, shortly after the conclusion of the lease agreement, the old man, treated kindly by the attention of realtors, died under strange circumstances. According to investigators, some time later the black brokers offered the social worker who cared for the pensioner to add certain medications to the ward’s food for a certain bribe. It was these medicines that Gavrilyuk supplied to the criminals. He was registered with the PND, so he himself received potent drugs as prescribed by a doctor.
In 2021, one of the victims went to the police with a statement about an attempted murder. That was the start of the high-profile investigation. Seven employees of the company were detained, and the head was put on the wanted list. The murder of two men, as well as the attempted murder of five people, are considered proven. The case of Gavrilyuk, as suffering from a serious illness, was separated into a separate proceeding. During the announcement of the verdict, he was sitting in the “aquarium”, with his hands clasped in front of him in the castle. There was no sign of remorse on his face. However, Gavrilyuk did not plead guilty and intends to appeal the court’s decision through a lawyer.
