The court received a report on Eksmo about LGBT propaganda in the comic strip “Gennady the Dove”

On December 19, in the Zelenogradsky District Court of Moscow, an administrative protocol was registered under the article on the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations among minors (Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code) in relation to the Eksmo publishing house, it follows from cards on the court’s website.
As the press service of the court told Kommersant, the administrative materials refer to the comic book “Gennady the Dove.” The verification of the publishing house became known the 3rd of November. Then State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein reported that the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow had opened an administrative case against Eksmo under Art. 6.21 Code of Administrative Offences.
At the same time, the card on the court’s website states that the participants in the case, in addition to the publishing house, are the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Zelenograd Administrative District. The meeting date has not yet been set. For promoting non-traditional relationships, a legal entity faces a fine of 800 thousand to 1 million rubles, or suspension of activities for up to 90 days.
The Telegram channel “Caution Media” reported on November 3 that the reason for drawing up the protocol was a monologue in a comic about the protagonist’s orientation. “Sometimes instincts take over Gennady. Pigeons do not always distinguish each other’s sexes. Therefore, Gennady prefers to think that he is pansexual (when a partner is chosen solely based on personal qualities.— “Ъ”),” journalist Ksenia Sobchak wrote in her Telegram channel.
The comic book “Dove Gennady” is a development of the web comic created by Ukrainian artist Tatyana Koro in 2016. The book was first published in 2018 by the St. Petersburg publishing house KomFederatsiya, part of the Eksmo holding. The last edition in the Russian Federation was printed on January 21, 2022, before the start of the military special operation in Ukraine. On November 1, 2023, the publishing house “KomFederation” announced the cessation of work.
