The supplier of computers for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as his accomplices, was convicted on May 10 for fraud by the Meshchansky District Court.
As it became known to MK, in March 2019, a criminal case was opened against the head of the IT company Vsevolod Opanasenko, as well as the head of the department of information technology, communications and information protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Alexandrov and the head of the department of the Voronezh University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oksana Bokova for fraud in a particularly large size. Opanasenko and Alexandrov were arrested, and then transferred to house arrest. Later it was canceled and a ban on certain actions was introduced.
As the investigation established, the merchant supplied equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including processors worth more than 350 million rubles, but it did not meet the technical specifications prescribed in the contracts.
At the same time, the defense insisted that the accusation was groundless and was built with numerous violations. In particular, the technical characteristics of the processors were higher than those stated in the contracts.
However, the court did not agree with the arguments of the defense and imposed real terms of punishment on the main defendants – Opanasenko and Aleksandrov for 2 years and 4 months in prison, and Bokova, who employed Aleksandrov at the Voronezh University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
Servants of Themis took into account the time spent by the defendants in the criminal case in a pre-trial detention center and under house arrest, so Opanasenko and Aleksandrov left the courtroom with their sentences already served.
The relatives of the accused came to the announcement of the verdict, they did not hide their joy and hugged each other. The defendants themselves declined to comment.
