The First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction postponed to December 7 consideration of an appeal against the sentence of Ivan Safronov, a former adviser to the head of Roskosmos, who was sentenced to 22 years in a strict regime colony in a treason case, the press service of the court reports.
It is known that the court session is scheduled for December 7, at 13:00. Earlier it was assumed that the hearing will be held today, November 30, behind closed doors.
Earlier, the Moscow City Court sentenced Safronov to 22 years in a strict regime colony in a case related to high treason. The court also appointed the former adviser to the head of Roskosmos two years of restriction of freedom upon completion of the term of imprisonment, as well as a fine of 500 thousand rubles.
Ivan Safronov was found guilty on two episodes of the case. The verdict handed down by the Moscow City Court was the toughest in the history of cases on charges of treason.
