The court of Norway released the Russian in the case of the use of a drone

The Tromsø District Court in Norway released from custody Russian citizen Vitaly Rustanovich, who was detained on October 11 at the Storskog checkpoint with a drone in his luggage, transmits broadcaster NRK.

In late November, a court sentenced a Russian to 120 days in prison for operating a drone. According to investigators, a total of 47 flights were made under his control in Norway from August 27 to October 11. He was detained at the Storskog checkpoint in October after driving back and forth through Norway. The police seized two drones and several memory cards.

The day before the trial in Norway justified businessman and co-founder of the Venture Investments & Yield Management fund Andrey Yakunin, son of the former head Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin, in the case of the use of a drone on the territory of the kingdom.

Yakunin was detained on October 17. The Holugaland Court of Appeal at first decided to release him from custody, but after an appeal the charges kept him under arrest. A similar decision was made in the district court. On November 11, he was charged. According to investigators, Yakunin violated the law on sanctions, which prohibits Russians from using drones in Norway. The indictment states that the businessman was in Svalbard between August 3 and September 6 of this year and repeatedly flew a drone during this period of time.

In addition, several Russians were detained in October because of the drones. In particular, one of the citizens of Russia detained at Tromsø Airport in the north of the country on October 14. In his cameras, the police found pictures from the airport in Kirkenes and pictures of the Norwegian Armed Forces Bell helicopter. In turn, the Russian claimed that he photographed for personal purposes.
