The Court of Arbitration for Sport registered the lawsuits of Russian clubs against FIFA regarding legionnaires

Eight Russian football clubs have filed appeals with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the International Football Federation (FIFA) to extend the permit for foreign football players and coaches to suspend contracts with Russian clubs until 2023. Appeals have been registered in court, legal procedures are at an early stage, the press service of the court explained.
CAS also clarified RIA Novosti that the appeals were filed by the clubs Zenit, Dynamo, CSKA, Lokomotiv, Sochi, Krasnodar, Rostov and Rubin. A lawsuit was also filed by the Donetsk club Shakhtar, which currently operates under the jurisdiction of the DPR.
July 31 at Dynamo Moscow declared on the inadmissibility of inducing players to terminate or suspend contracts with Russian clubs by foreign players. FIFA authorized such operations for football players back in March – then a special transfer regime was introduced until June 30, 2022, but later the term of the right to unilaterally terminate the contracts was extended for another year.
