A court in the city of Grozny extended the arrest of Nikita Zhuravel, accused of burning the Koran in Volgograd, for six months.

Earlier it was reported that Volgograd resident Nikita Zhuravel partially admitted guilt during the trial in Grozny.

In May, law enforcement agencies detained Zhuravel in Volgograd. The defendant carried out an action with the burning of the Koran against the backdrop of a mosque. According to the Investigative Committee, the suspect admitted that he committed the crime for money at the direction of the Ukrainian special services.

A criminal case was opened against Nikita Zhuravel for insulting the feelings of believers.
