On February 13, actor Mikhail Efremov, in 2020 sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for the death of a person in an accident, asked the court to terminate the proceedings on a motion to replace deprivation of liberty with forced labor. The Alekseevsky District Court of the Belgorod Region granted the actor’s petition.

On June 8, 2020, an accident involving Mikhail Efremov occurred in Moscow on the Garden Ring. The SUV driven by him drove into the oncoming lane and collided with the van driven by the courier Sergey Zakharov – he died in the hospital from his injuries. Alcohol and drugs were found in the actor’s blood. In January 2023 Efremov asked replace the remaining term with forced labor, but then changed my mind.
