According to the court, on the night of January 24, a 37-year-old man sent messages on social networks calling for people to go to an unauthorized rally. A case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (organizing or holding a public event without filing a notice of a public event in the prescribed manner). Details about the identity of the fined man were not provided.
The incident from which the rallies began occurred on January 21. According to the Investigative Committee, a conflict occurred between two men, during which a native of Tajikistan “inflicted several stab wounds to the chest” of a 26-year-old city resident. After some time, the victim died. A native of Tajikistan was charged under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). Court sent he is under arrest until March 21.
The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, promised to find out how the suspect received Russian citizenship. Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yakutia called for the population should not succumb to provocations on social networks and not go to protests.
