In the Lefortovo Court of Moscow, the judge granted the request of the investigating authorities to extend the arrest of Anatoly Maslov, an employee of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who is accused of treason.
The scientist was detained on June 27 of this year, the central apparatus of the FSB of Russia is dealing with his case. TASS sources previously reported that Maslov is suspected of transmitting classified information via hypersound.
It was this scientist, who specializes in viscous gas dynamics, who developed efficient algorithms and carried out the first Russian numerical calculations of the stability of compressible flows. He showed the possibility of complete stabilization of the supersonic boundary layer by cooling the surface of the aircraft. In recent years, he started a new scientific direction – an experimental study of flows at the microlevel, obtained unique data on the structure of microfluidic flows and microjets.
