The court arrested the ex-mayor of Arkhangelsk for 15 days after the failed “VIP-motor race”

The Tagansky Court of Moscow appointed the former mayor of Arkhangelsk Alexander Donskoy 15 days of administrative arrest. He was found guilty of violating order while organizing a suppressed unauthorized rally in the center of the capital, TASS reports. Mr Donskoy himself denied the allegations.
“Assign an administrative penalty to Donskoy in the form of 15 days of arrest,” the court announced the decision. The decision has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
According to the ex-mayor, his detention is “due to the fact that some guys decided to go on vacation en masse in cool cars.” Alexander Donskoy himself says that his detainedwhen he was standing on the stairs of Moscow City after breakfast, waiting for a taxi. According to Mr. Donskoy, he does not know how to drive a car.
The arrival in elite cars, which was planned for the morning of August 28, was equated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a mass public event.
Alexander Donskoy was mayor of Arkhangelsk from 2005 to 2008.
