The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg arrested the former mayor of the city, Yevgeny Roizman (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) for 14 days. This is reported by journalists from the courtroom.
Roizman was detained under Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses on propaganda of extremist symbols. The reason is the repost in the social network VKontakte. At the same time, Roizman said that he never had a page on this social network.
A repost with extremist symbols appeared in a group on VKontakte called Evgeny Roizman. The politician himself claims that he has nothing to do with her. His lawyer petitioned to attach to the case file a request to VKontakte to provide data about the owner and administrator of the community, but the court rejected the petition.
Earlier it was reported that the investigation of the criminal case against Roizman on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was completed. Consideration on the merits could begin by the end of March.
