A court in Moscow arrested in absentia the leader of the “Georgian Legion” in Ukraine, Mamulashvili

The leader of the Georgian National Legion, Ushanga Mamulashvili, was arrested in absentia by the Basmanny Court of Moscow. He is accused of inciting hatred or hostility.

The court clarified that he will be taken into custody at the moment when he is detained by law enforcement agencies in Russia or upon extradition.

“Mamulashvili is charged with inciting hatred or hostility on the grounds of race, nationality and other things. He is on the international and federal wanted list,” the court noted.

Let us recall that earlier the Investigative Committee of Russia brought Mamulashvili to criminal liability in absentia. According to investigators, he recruited immigrants from Georgia to participate in hostilities against the authorities of the Donbass republics, and also created the Georgian National Legion in 2014.
