The cost of a lunch of cutlets and mashed potatoes has reached a maximum since 2022

In July, the average cost of a lunch of meat cutlets and mashed potatoes was 254.54 rubles, calculated RIA Novosti based on Rosstat data.

This cost of lunch has become the maximum since June 2022, when the products for its preparation could be bought for 262.52 rubles. Since then, prices have been declining, but at the beginning of this year they began to rise again and by June reached 254.31 rubles.

RIA Novosti suggests using the following ingredients to prepare about two portions of mashed potatoes: 400 g of minced meat, one egg, onion, four potatoes, 50 g of butter, 25 million vegetable, fresh herbs and salt.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, over the month, eggs have risen in price by 12 kopecks, to 7.85 rubles, and potatoes – by 0.084 rubles, to 18.53 rubles. At the same time, other products became slightly cheaper, the cost of a kg of onions decreased by 1.1 rubles.

Annual inflation in July amounted to 4.3% after 3.25% in June, Rosstat reported earlier. On a monthly basis, prices rose by 0.63%. As noted by the statistical office, the rise in the cost of food products is largely due to the increase in prices for fruits and vegetables (by 1.77% after a decrease of 2.35% in June).

Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev declaredthat in late August – early September, meat prices will begin to decline. According to him, the increase in prices is due to seasonality, it happens from year to year. Patrushev stressed that there is “by no means a shortage of meat in Russia”, the indicators of the food security doctrine for meat have been overfulfilled.
