A 2019 experiment found that participants in a 20-day study increased their peak cycling power (a measure of feeling alert and energized) during the first 15 days of caffeine use. The greatest effect was obtained on the first day. The effect then declined until it reached pre-study levels.

Changes in adenosine receptor levels usually resolve after a 7-day caffeine break. According to scientists, it is not necessary to completely give up coffee, the main thing is to reduce consumption so that the level of adenosine receptors is restored.
