The Italian Consulate General in Moscow explained why Russians may have restrictions on visas
When applying for a Schengen visa, Russians may have restrictions. This was reported in the Consulate General of Italy. If non-biometric passports are submitted for a visa, then “minus Denmark” is automatically stamped. Entry to this EU country will be closed. Employees of the diplomatic department said that this was due to the requirements of the Danish side.
Earlier it was reported that the holders of non-biometric passports are denied entry to both Italy and Denmark. However, the Italians said they did not accept such documents for only a couple of days due to a misunderstanding. Now visas are affixed to any passport.
The Danes do not refute information about entry only with biometric documents, but they do not confirm it either. It is also not known what such restrictions may be related to.
