The Constitutional Court recognized the constitutionality of the treaties on new territories

The Constitutional Court ruled to recognize the treaties on the inclusion of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into Russia as consistent with the Constitution.

AT message the website of the court states that in connection with the requests of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Constitutional Court adopted Resolution No. 36-P on checking the constitutionality of the agreement between the Russian Federation and the DPR, Resolution No. 37-P – of the agreement with the LPR, Resolution No. 39-P – Kherson region.

As follows from the text of the decisions of the Constitutional Court, the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics became part of Russia in the status of entities with Russian as the state language.

30 September Vladimir Putin signed agreements on accession to Russia of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. The decision was made following the results of referendums held from 23 to 27 September.
