The Constitutional Court of Armenia today issued a decision by which it recognized all obligations under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court as consistent with the fundamental law of the country.
How informs “Sputnik Armenia”, this decision was read out by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan a few minutes ago. From the moment of announcement, the decision entered into force.
Armenia started the process of ratifying the Rome Statute a few months ago.
Earlier, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian human rights commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova. The Kremlin previously explained that Russia, like many other leading world powers, does not recognize this court, so its decisions will not have legal consequences for the Russian Federation.
