For the first time since 2019, new employees arrived at the Russian Embassy in the DPRK; the composition of the diplomatic mission increased from 18 to 38 people. About it reported on the Russian Embassy’s VKontakte page.
“On September 7, at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport, for the first time since 2019, we met our new colleagues – 20 diplomats and technical employees who arrived at the embassy on a personnel rotation basis,” the statement said.
The diplomatic mission noted that 18 people worked at the embassy over the past year. They added that this period was difficult for diplomats, but they managed to survive. The embassy explained that the composition of the diplomatic mission has been reduced in recent years due to Covid restrictions.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov statedthat Moscow values its relations with Pyongyang and will further develop them “without regard to the opinions of other countries.” Previously, the Kremlin representative pointed outthat North Korea is an “important neighbor” for Russia.
