The Communists of Primorye finally refused to nominate a candidate for governor

The conference of the seaside branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation today, June 24, today supported the earlier decision of the regional committee not to nominate a candidate from the party in the upcoming elections in September for the governor of the region.

“The overwhelming majority of delegates voted for the boycott of the elections. We do not consider it possible to participate in them, since we were tied hand and foot. Without control over the precinct commissions, we can easily draw the fourth or fifth place. This only discredits the party,” Anatoly Dolgachev, first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, told Kommersant. He assured that the decision to boycott the elections is final.

Recall, on June 10, the plenum of the regional committee of the Communist Party He has made a decision not to nominate a candidate for the forthcoming elections in September for the governor of Primorye. The communists made such a demarche in protest against the mass exclusion of representatives from the party from the newly formed precinct election commissions. According to the regional committee, this creates conditions for falsification of the voting results. “With the exception of the Sovetsky district of Vladivostok, in the remaining four districts of the city, the communists are included in only 15% of the PECs,” Mr. Dolgachev explained earlier.

In the upcoming elections in September will be able to accept participation only candidates from political parties. Legislative Assembly of Primorye amended the electoral code of the region, excluding the possibility of self-nomination. To register as a candidate, nominees from parties must overcome the municipal filter – collect at least 75 signatures of deputies and heads of municipalities (at the same time, at least 51 from deputies and heads of municipal districts, municipal districts and city districts).

The Primorsky branch of the United Russia party at its regional conference on June 20 decided to nominate the incumbent governor Oleg Kozhemyako as a candidate for the post of head of the region for a new term.

Also, the regional branches of the parties “A Just Russia – For Truth”, “Communists of Russia” and the Cossack Party have already put forward their candidates. Documents on nomination to the commission have already been submitted by Alexander Andoni from the “Communists of Russia” and Denis Kovalev from the Cossack Party. Both nominees head the respective regional party organizations. “Fair Russia – For the Truth” nominated an entrepreneur from Vladivostok, director of a garbage disposal company Kirill Rudyuk.
