A counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in Moscow and the Moscow Region, informs “RIA Novosti” with reference to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee of Russia (NAC).
“In order to prevent possible terrorist acts on the territory of the city of Moscow and the Moscow region, a counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced,” the NAC information center said in a statement.
Earlier today, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported on conducting anti-terrorist measures in the region and strengthening control on the roads. Vorobyov warned that there may be additional checks on roads in a southerly direction, and therefore asked to refrain from traveling by car in this direction, “primarily outside the region.”
On the evening of June 23, in social networks associated with the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, on his behalf, it was announced about a missile attack on one of the rear camps of a military company, and other statements were circulated. The Ministry of Defense stated that the reports of attacks on the fighters of the PMC “Wagner” are not true and are an “information provocation.” The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the investigative department of the FSB of Russia opened a criminal case on the organization of an armed rebellion against Prigozhin. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin was informed about what was happening. Later, the Kremlin spoke about the forthcoming presidential address.
