Deputies of the Russian Communist Party (KPRF) submitted to the State Duma a bill on the country’s withdrawal from the agreement on accession to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). It is stated in the explanatory note. tass
“Russia’s stay in the IMF did not help prevent the adoption of sanctions against Russia (unilateral economic measures), which clearly contradict the main goals and principles of this organization,” the report says.
According to the authors of the bill, it makes no sense for Russia to continue participating in the IMF.
It is worth noting that the Russian Federation joined the currency fund in 1992, becoming the 165th member of the organization.
