The Commonwealth of School Theaters appeared in Moscow

About four hundred school theaters have already become members of the new association. It also included more than fifty theaters operating on the basis of institutions of additional education, and forty theaters opened on the basis of colleges.
The Commonwealth of School Theaters in Moscow has a lot of tasks: holding festivals and competitions, creating and producing performances, sharing experience between different theaters, master classes for school theater directors from famous masters of the stage. It is assumed that the performances, which will be created by children’s and youth theaters operating on the basis of the capital’s educational institutions, can be shown on large stages. And not only to the school audience, but also to invited viewers. The authors of the project assume that the creation of the Commonwealth of School Theaters will allow students to participate more actively in the theatrical life of their own and not only their schools, and will allow them to better develop their talents. And maybe some guys will show the way to the big stage.
For the leaders of school theater studios and circles that are part of the Commonwealth, it is planned to organize the work of a club that will be called “Moscow Workshop of Theater Pedagogy”. The program of his work will include trainings and master classes, meetings with cultural figures, actors and directors. School theater directors will be explained how to start working on a play, how to select plays, make scenery and costumes, and how to remove clamps from children before performing on stage. The director of the workshop was Vadim Zlotnikov, director and laureate of the Russian Presidential Prize in the field of education.
To join the Commonwealth, the head of the school theater must register on the same site. Several theaters can submit an application from one educational organization.
