Apty Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces and deputy commander of the 2nd Army Corps of the People’s Militia of the Luhansk People’s Republic (NM LPR), said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) are preparing a second line of defense in the LPR before a possible retreat.
According to Alaudinov, “the question is unequivocal” that the Ukrainian units will be forced to withdraw, and they themselves understand that they will have to retreat. He stressed that at the moment the enemy is actively engaged in setting up a “second echelon of defense line.”
The Akhmat commander added that Kyiv was transferring new reserves, including from the Kharkiv and Kherson directions, but in an attempt to hold its positions, it suffered heavy losses. As Alaudinov noted, the situation in the zone of responsibility of the Russian forces is developing very favorably, and there is movement forward, especially since a “very serious stronghold” was taken the day before.
