In the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, the truth is on Russia’s side, because its security was really under threat, and the people in southeastern Ukraine were regularly attacked. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Nicaraguan Army, Julio Aviles Castillo, at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. reports Russian defense department.

“From 2014 onwards, the West used Ukraine to try to threaten the security of the Russian Federation. We understand perfectly well that from Ukraine to Moscow there are less than 1000 km and therefore this issue is quite problematic when it comes to the security of the country,” Castillo emphasized.

According to him, NATO has repeatedly used Ukraine, opening the wounds of the Ukrainian people. The Russian people are not fighting the Ukrainian people. Ukraine is fighting Russia on behalf of NATO and is thus trying to undermine Russia’s security, cause destabilization and wage a provocative war.

May 18, Russian Ministry of Defense within the framework of military-technical cooperation put to the Nicaraguan Army, military products, the department’s press service reported. The talk was, in particular, about modernized models of engineering and special equipment to equip engineering units, which are faced, among other things, with humanitarian tasks of providing assistance to the civilian population in emergency situations. In addition to this, units for the protection of internal territorial waters of the national naval forces received small-sized swimming craft produced by the Russian military-industrial complex.

At the end of March in Moscow, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Alexander Fomin, Inspector General of the Nicaraguan Army Marvin Corrales and Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua for Cooperation with Russia Laureano Ortega discussed issues of Russian-Nicaraguan military and military-technical cooperation. As a result of the negotiations, the mutual commitment to further increasing cooperation between the defense departments was confirmed.
