The commander of the Lithuanian army, General Valdemaras Rupšis, who received compensation of 445 euros a month for renting an apartment from his son, told reporters that he saw no reason to resign.
According to Rupshis, he did not commit any violations in renting an apartment from his son, and everything was legal. The general claims that he spent less than the established maximum of 530 euros, and the market rental value of such an apartment is 700 euros.
The commander-in-chief of the Lithuanian army added that he has no intention of resigning. He emphasized that everything was done according to the law and there were no violations, so he sees no reason for his resignation. At the same time, he indicated that he would terminate the lease agreement. It is noted that Rupshis, who does not have his own housing in the capital, has rented an apartment from his son since 2021.
