In the handball club “Rostov-Don” before the new season, the coaching staff was updated. Dmitry Kovalev, Daniel Jurisic and Viktor Shponko joined the Team.
Dmitry Kovalev took the position of assistant head coach. During his rich playing career, the specialist managed to play in several leading clubs in the country, including Spartak.
Daniel Jurisic is a well-known titled coach. Under his leadership, the Croatian national team became the winner of the Olympic Games. At the club level, he has repeatedly become the champion of Macedonia and is the owner of the silver medal of the Champions League. In the Don team, the coach will be responsible for the physical preparation of the players.
Viktor Shponko will take the position of goalkeeping coach. As a handball player, he played for SKIF, Polet, Ademar (Spain), Salamanca (Spain) and ASKI (Turkey). After the end of his career, he became a player and entered the coaching staff of the national team of the Russian Federation.
Most likely, all three specialists were called to the team by the new head coach of Rostov-Don, Irina Dibirova. Handball players will start preparing for the season from July 17, when they come back from vacation.
