The team of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug continues to fight in the championship and the championship of Russia in the northern all-around (0+). 145 athletes from nine regions of the country compete for the title of the strongest. Competitions are held in Magadan from March 21 to March 25, Chukotka news agency reports.

The district is represented by eighteen athletes aged 16 to 35. The team included residents of Anadyr, Bilibino, Kanchalan, Providence, Egvekinot, Lorino and Rytkuchi. The team was formed under the guidance of coach-teacher Andrey Kaininan following the results of the regional championship.

The opening of the championship and championship of Russia in the northern all-around was held at the Sports Palace of Magadan. Immediately after that, the strongest in the triple jump was revealed. On the first day of the competition, the best results were shown by the Egvekinot athletes.

“The best result of the national team -10 meters 25 cm was shown by Dmitry Bocharov. This result corresponds to the standard for the master of sports in the northern all-around. Dmitry was one step away from the medal, he is in fourth place among juniors aged 16-17. Among juniors, Anita Kaetchay showed good results. She jumped 7 meters 85 cm, having fulfilled the standard of a candidate for master of sports, ”the district department of culture, sports and tourism reported.

Participants will have to identify the best in four more disciplines. Today, a pole run will take place on the ski track in the village of Snezhny. On Thursday and Friday, the Orbita field will host competitions in throwing an ax and a tynzyan on a trochee. The athletes will test their strength in sled jumping on March 25, the competition will be held at the Sports Palace. Solemn rewarding of winners and prize-winners is planned to be held in the children’s camp “Northern Artek”.

According to the organizers, 145 athletes compete in the championship. The event brought together athletes from the Chukotka and Yamalo-Nenets districts, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk and Kamchatka territories, Sakhalin and Tyumen regions and Yakutia.
