Children’s Ombudsman Volynets stood up for a schoolboy dressed up as the Snow Maiden
Children’s Ombudsman of the Republic of Tatarstan Irina Volynets stood up for a schoolboy who, following the example of the Wolf from the cartoon “Well, wait a minute!” dressed up as the Snow Maiden for a matinee at school. Currently, the local education department is looking for signs of LGBT propaganda (an international social movement recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia) in this act.
According to Volynets, this check is an excessive measure.
“It is important that this does not now turn into a witch hunt.” This is reinsurance, which can cause fear among teachers and artistic directors of such events,” the ombudsman said in an interview with the Daily Storm.
He also added that people need to have the opportunity to express themselves creatively, and the image of men in female form from cartoons and movies does not affect orientation. As an example, she cited the films “The Hussar Ballad” or “Gentlemen of Fortune” and other films.
“It seems to me that there is no danger in these cases, because this is an established technique in art,” noted the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Tatarstan, adding that it is really scary when children, as in the United States, are given hormones to determine their gender.
