An emergency occurred the other day in Kazan, in a house on Ilyich Street. While in a state of drug intoxication, the 35-year-old man decided that a fire had started in his apartment and threw his one-year-old daughter from the fifth floor balcony. She was saved by 44-year-old Albert Bikmullin, who was passing by, and caught the child literally in flight. And immediately after that, he saved the life of this girl’s twin brother. Rescuers and police searched for the hero who saved the children for several days. And they found it!

Albert told MK about what happened that day and his heroic deed.

– I work as an ordinary driver in an ordinary trading company with a truck. At two o’clock in the afternoon I was already returning home from work after my shift. Tired, he even took off his jacket and hat,” the man sighs. – I was driving past a high-rise building on the street and opened it slightly in the cabin. I drove very slowly because there was a big traffic jam on the road near this house. And then I heard screams and children crying. I looked at the house and saw that on the balcony of the 5th floor a man was holding two small children in his hands and shouting – “I’ll throw them off now!” Everything in my heart turned upside down. He immediately jumped out of the car with what he was wearing. I see that under this balcony there is a shop extension, and above it there is a canopy. I started looking for a way to get on top of him and calm the guy down. I saw the pipes from the air conditioners and along them, like on ropes, I climbed onto this canopy and began shouting to him: “Let go of the children! What has happened with you? Let’s talk!”. At first the guy doesn’t care… I shout to him again: “It’s not the children’s fault, they’re such little kids, what are you doing! Is that possible? He seemed to listen, removed one child, but still held the girl and began yelling that his house was on fire and he needed to save the children. But there was no fire there. I realized that there was something wrong with this dad’s head. I tried to calm him down, and then he suddenly threw the child at me, shouting: “Hold her.”

Further, according to Albert, everything happened instantly.

– I reacted sharply and began to catch the baby. Somehow I caught her, grabbed her, and together we fell into a snowdrift on this roof. It’s good that the snow softened the fall. I couldn’t resist. He immediately picked up the girl (she, as I later found out, was only one year and two months old) and cleared the snow from her. She cried a lot from fear, was in home clothes – tights, a blouse. People had already gathered below, I immediately handed it into their hands. He asked me to take her to the store, warm her up, and wrap her up (the frost was severe at that time). They brought her there.

And this man began to shout that he would also throw away his second child, his son (it turns out they are twins). I began to persuade him not to do this. He shouted: “This is your son, my own blood!” And people stood and watched. But I remained on the canopy of the store. As a result, I got angry and shouted that I would climb through the windows and throw him out myself! After that, the man went into the room and disappeared. And here, near the canopy, in the entrance of the house there are large windows that open. Some girl opened this window for me and said that this man had gone into the entrance, and there was a second child crying.

I asked the girl to help me exit through her apartment into the entrance. I got out and ran up to the fifth floor, where everything was happening. I saw that the second baby was lying on the threshold of the apartment, and the man was standing next to him, the door was open. I hit him in the nose to distract him, grabbed the child and ran downstairs. There was a boy on the first floor, and I handed the baby to him. But then I went up to this freak again. He apparently began to come to his senses. He sat down on his knees in front of me and began to ask for forgiveness. I told him: “Why are you asking me for forgiveness? You threw a child off, what have you done?!” He started crawling on the floor, asking what would happen to him. I answered him: “You know it yourself!” When the police arrived, he stuck out his hands to them and said that he was surrendering. Well, then I calmly left.

Later it turned out that the mother of the children with the youngest child (he was two weeks old) managed to run away from her violent husband, who suffers from drug addiction, and hide with neighbors.

– What was the worst thing for you in this situation?

“It’s terrible not to catch the child he threw to me.” But it’s good that everything worked out! She had a slight concussion and a broken arm, as I later found out. And I still didn’t know what words to choose to calm this subhuman down. I wanted to talk to him during this whole incident, to distract him, to stretch out time. I can’t ignore someone else’s misfortune. I myself have five children, and my youngest son is one year and four months old, almost like the girl he threw away. But I don’t consider all this heroism on my part. Any normal person at that moment should have reacted and helped in the same way.

– You probably go in for sports?

– Yes, especially with skis.

– What is your dream?

– Raise and raise your children with dignity.
