The region’s governor, Alexey Teksler, announced the region’s interest in hosting this level of competition.

Alexey Teksler voiced his desire to hold the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix stage in the Chelyabinsk region when answering a question from a TASS correspondent. According to the governor, the regional authorities and the Figure Skating Federation have already discussed this possibility. “I really hope so,” Texler said.

As the head of the region noted, the Southern Urals have accumulated a wealth of experience in holding this kind of competition – it was here that two Russian figure skating championships were held, and last Sunday the figure skating competition ended as part of the All-Russian Winter Sports Spartakiad.

Previously “MK-Chelyabinsk” wrote that the winners of the Spartakiad figure skating tournament were determined in Magnitogorsk.
