Bastrykin: Chekalin bloggers paid a tax debt of 504 million rubles
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bystrykin said that the family of bloggers Valeria and Artem Chekalin paid a tax debt in the amount of 504 million rubles.
According to him, the Chekalins admitted their guilt in tax evasion and fully compensated the tax arrears, fines and penalties. The total amount was 504 million rubles.
“After this, the criminal prosecution was discontinued. However, the investigation into the circumstance of their legalization of property obtained by criminal means is ongoing,” Bastrykin noted.
Let us recall that earlier two criminal cases were initiated against Chekalina and her husband. One of them concerned tax evasion in the amount of 311 million rubles. The second is about money laundering on a particularly large scale.
