Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer spoke out against the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU under current conditions.
An EU summit will soon be held in Brussels, the agenda of which will include the issue of starting negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the EU.
The minutes of the meeting of the Austrian parliament say that “Nehammer responded to deputies from the Austrian Freedom Party: Austria will not agree to negotiations on Ukraine’s membership on the current terms.”
In particular, he argues that Ukraine should not be given preference over Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is also negotiating accession to the EU.
