This is how the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, answered the question whether the commission’s employees plan to organize a corporate party. According to Ms. Pamfilova, CEC employees learned about the planned corporate event from the Brief Telegram channel. “We searched, looked and decided that, apparently, taking into account the fact that until January 1 we are accepting documents from parties and candidates, here we are, as they say, on guard, on the lookout, apparently, we will fill the word “corporate party” with a new meaning , in Tsikovsky style, “corporate party in Tsikovsky style” – reception, checking documents on New Year’s Eve,” Ella Pamfilova commented on this message to the TASS agency.

On December 27, the CEC finished accepting applications for registration of groups of voters from self-nominated candidates. On December 28, the Central Election Commission approved the nomination of Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Andrei Bogdanov (Russian Freedom and Justice Party) as presidential candidates. The current president, Vladimir Putin, is running as a self-nominated candidate. The CEC accepts documents of candidates nominated by political parties until 18:00 on January 1. For the first time, presidential elections will take place not one, but three days – from March 15 to 17, 2024.
