The Central Election Commission (CEC) will present preliminary results of voting in the presidential elections in Russia in the morning of March 18, said CEC member Igor Borisov. The CEC will begin to provide the first results from 21:00 on March 17.
“Before lunch on Monday, Ella Alexandrovna will announce the preliminary voting results. I assume that at that time the figure will be no less than 90%. I repeat that we will receive data within the framework of the state automated system, which is now working on a new platform,” Mr. Borisov said at a press conference (quoted by TASS).
According to Igor Borisov, the CEC will present the final results of voting in the presidential elections after all forms of the first copies of protocols from all subjects of Russia have been collected. “Then they will be summed up in strict accordance with the requirements of the current legislation,” he emphasized.
The CEC plans to begin collecting keys for deciphering the results of remote electronic voting (DEG) at 20:00 on March 17, when it ends throughout Russia, except for Kaliningrad, the results of which will be added in an hour. “And at 21:00 we will be ready to start giving preliminary voting results,” added the CEC member. Igor Borisov noted that the results will be summed up in parallel for the DEG and for voting using a paper ballot.
The Russian presidential elections will be held from March 15 to 17. This is the first three-day presidential election in the country’s history. The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation registered four presidential candidates: Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated). More than 94 thousand polling stations have been prepared for the elections. To vote in the Russian presidential elections manufactured 113.6 million ballot papers.
