Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova announced the official results of the Russian presidential elections. 76,277,708 people voted for Vladimir Putin (self-nominated), his final result was 87.28%. 4.31% of ballots were cast for Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), 3.85% for Vladislav Davankov (“New People”), and 3.20% for Leonid Slutsky (LDPR). The final turnout for the elections was a record 77.49%. 87,576,075 voters took part in the voting.
Abroad, 388,791 voters took part in the presidential elections, Ella Pamfilova reported. Outside Russia, 295 election commissions were organized. More than 7 thousand Russians voted at special polling stations created in the border areas of the Kaliningrad, Pskov and Leningrad regions. The Chairman of the Central Election Commission noted that the majority of voters at polling stations in “unfriendly” countries voted for Mr. Putin: in Germany – 56.82%, in Estonia – 75.22%, in Latvia – 70.6%, in Australia – 53.6% , in Armenia – 54.7%, in the USA – 42.23%.
The CEC recorded 459 complaints about real violations during the elections. According to Ella Pamfilova, the campaign was “very clean.”
