The intensity of hacker attacks on the Russian financial sector remains very high. This statement was made by the head of the information security department of the Central Bank of Russia, Vadim Umarov, during a speech at a conference of the Association of Russian Banks.
According to him, the highest intensity of attacks was recorded in the spring: in March, their number increased by 20 times, in May – by 80 times.
“Currently, the background of attacks remains high, increased, as in previous reporting periods, and one of the main types of attacks remains DDoS attacks – denial of service,” said the chairman of the department of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that for the third quarter of this year, the number of cyber attacks exceeds the figures for the same period last year by almost two times.
