How the Party of Deeds appeared

The Party of Action was founded on October 14, 2010 in Moscow. To obtain the status of an all-Russian party, Babkin’s associates opened branches in 42 constituent entities of the Russian Federation until December 2010. However, the Ministry of Justice twice refused to register the party; it was obtained after the liberalization of party legislation in 2012. According to the entrepreneur, the party is accustomed to being under the threat of liquidation. In its political program “New Deal” (approved in 2021), the Party of Cause advocates protectionism (in particular, Russia’s withdrawal from the World Trade Organization), stimulating tax policies (budget redistribution, abolition of VAT and a progressive tax scale), as well as development of non-resource industry. Babkin himself heads the Council for Industrial Development and Competitiveness of the Russian Economy of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is also the President of the Russian Association of Manufacturers of Specialized Machinery and Equipment (Rosspetsmash).
