A criminal case was opened in St. Petersburg after the body of the head of the Karate Federation, Vitaly Konev, was found with a gunshot wound. This was reported in the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, as quoted by Lenta.ru.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Konev was found dead on February 7 next to a shooting target at the Nevsky training ground in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region. According to an insider, the preliminary cause of the incident is the ricochet of a stray bullet. Forensic investigators are working on the spot, and examinations have been scheduled.
Earlier it became known that two people were being sought for the massacre of three townswomen in the Moscow region.
