Oleg Tsarev: “Only her lawyer knows the details”

Deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region Ekaterina Gubareva at large. Two days ago, the wife of the DPR politician Pavel Gubarev stopped communicating because she was detained by the investigating authorities. The day before, she had told her husband that she would soon be released. Gubarev refuses to disclose the details of the essence of the case, referring to an agreement with investigators.

Despite the fact that Ekaterina Gubareva was “found” and was still able to return home, this whole story claims to be a logical explanation. Her role in the criminal case under the article on economic crime remains unclear. Why she was soon released is also unclear. No one can yet accurately confirm even her actual participation in the work of the administration of the Kherson region.

Officially, on her behalf, various statements and comments were made on the situation related to the Kherson region, up to the day of detention. Now, however, sources on the ground claim that not only has she not taken a real part in the administration, but has been outside the region altogether since the referendum on joining Russia. Her position remained, but her duties were redistributed. It was reported that during the evacuation period, Gubareva was also absent from Kherson.

However, all this does not fit with the words of her husband. Gubarev previously stated that he saw his wife before disappearing in the building of the government of the Kherson region in Genichesk. And when she disappeared, Gubarev did not call anyone, but the acting head of the region, Vladimir Saldo.

According to one version, Gubareva was detained in the center of Donetsk on November 15 on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds. Referring to sources from the government of the Kherson region, the media noted that on the eve of Gubareva, she was officially fired and was heading to Moscow. According to another version, the reason for the detention was the non-payment of pensions in the region, and in addition to Gubareva herself, two more people from the regional administration were detained.

Gubarev himself also stated that his wife did not take part in the work of the government over the past two months due to a shell shock received after a HIMARS rocket hit the Kherson administration. According to Tsarev, it will not be possible to find out what really happened now because of the secrecy of the investigation. “So far, it seems that this is not possible. Well, the investigation itself can later reveal the details of what happened.”

Thus, the circumstances of the detention, its place and time, as well as what served as its real reason, remain a secret.
