The government supported a bill on the right of disabled children to receive two pensions in the event of the death of a parent in military service or in a volunteer formation. The project was prepared by the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Alexander Varfolomeev.

We are talking about a survivor’s pension and a social or disability insurance pension. It is assumed that disabled children will be able to receive payments, including in the event of the death of their parent due to injury, concussion, injury or disease received while defending the Motherland. Currently, parents and widows of military personnel and volunteers have the right to receive two pensions.

The government asked to bring the stated standards into compliance with the current legislation on the list of persons entitled to a survivor’s pension. “The bill does not contradict acts of higher legal force, including the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. The Government of the Russian Federation supports the bill taking into account the above comment,” says the review (quoted from TASS).

The bill was developed on the basis of one of the proposals prepared by the working group on military operations. Last week she sent President Vladimir Putin receives another report with a list of initiatives. The legislators also proposed exempting volunteers with at least six months of experience in the Northern Military District from subsequent military service and transferring confiscated firearms “for the needs of the Northern Military District.” In January the same working group contributed a bill has been submitted to the State Duma that will protect the interests of the common-law wives of dead and missing participants in the military operation.
