The government submitted to the State Duma a draft federal budget for 2024 and the planning period for 2025 and 2026, reported in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the project, revenues in 2024 are planned at 35 trillion rubles, expenses at 36.6 trillion rubles. In 2025 and 2026, budget revenues could amount to 33.5 trillion rubles. and 34.1 trillion rubles. accordingly, and expenses are 34.4 trillion rubles. and 35.6 trillion rubles.
“The draft budget was drawn up on the basis of the basic version of the socio-economic development forecast. It implies a transition to strong economic growth in 2024 at a level above 2%,” the government said in a statement.
The government added that one of the main priorities when forming the budget was support for pregnant women and families with children (4.4 trillion rubles were allocated for three years for the payment of a single benefit, 1.6 trillion for maternity capital), social contracts (more than 100 billion rub.), as well as in other social areas.
The government approved the draft budget at a meeting on September 22. Then Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that work on the budget “was carried out against the backdrop of increasing global imbalances” and in the context of “continued external pressure on the economy.” According to him, the government “tried to minimize the budget deficit as much as possible.” It will be covered primarily through borrowing, he added. The budget for next year is drawn up with a deficit of 1.6 trillion rubles.
The Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that this year the package of documents was completely submitted to the State Duma in electronic form for the first time.
