Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on September 3 added to the list of legal entities in respect of which special economic measures have been taken. The list includes the German underground gas storage (UGS) “Katarina”.

It is known that it was put into operation in 2017 in Anhalt-Saxony in the east of Germany. The Katarina project was implemented by Gazprom together with Verbundnetz Gas AG. Against the backdrop of the energy crisis in Europe, she was forced to seek government support.

Recently, the Russian government banned transport goods to countries that have imposed anti-Russian sanctions.
