The Cabinet of Ministers approved the strategy for the development of the pharmaceutical industry until 2030

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the strategy for the development of the pharmaceutical industry in the country until 2030, an order to this effect published on the government website.

The goals of the strategies, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers explains, are to increase the competitiveness of Russian manufacturers both within the country and abroad, to bring new drugs to the market, as well as to deepen the use of advanced technologies and innovations in domestic production.

“In the current conditions of current challenges, it is extremely important to support our own production of full-cycle drugs. And in the next eight years, their share in the Russian market should be increased to almost 70%,” commented adoption of Mishustin’s document at today’s meeting with deputy prime ministers.

First of all, we are talking about increasing the production of antibiotics, hormonal and psychotropic drugs, anticoagulants, drugs obtained from human blood plasma, etc., the press service of the government noted.

In accordance with the strategy, the share of Russian-made drugs in total consumption will grow from 61.8% to 66.6% by 2030, while exports will increase from $1.28 billion to $3.4 billion. significant, the production of which is carried out according to the full cycle, should grow from 67.44% to 80%.

At a meeting with Mishustin, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova also said that today medicines are produced in the Russian Federation in almost all key market segments. According to Rosstat, in 2022, the volume of production of domestic drugs amounted to almost 608 billion rubles, which is 11% higher than the results of 2021.

On the need to increase the share of domestic drugs and strengthen independence from foreign pharmaceutical suppliers at the end of March declared Russian President Vladimir Putin.
