The CAA reported about the shelling of the Antonovsky bridge near Kherson

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) again hit the Antonovsky Bridge near Russian-controlled Kherson with HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, informed Deputy head of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration of the region Kirill Stremousov in his Telegram channel.

“Now everything is in order with the Antonovsky Bridge. Let it be shot, but it did not collapse,” he said.

The representative of the CAA also stressed that the bridge is currently not in use, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in his opinion, are deliberately firing at civilian infrastructure.

In a comment to RIA Novosti, he addedthat Kyiv is trying to destroy the broken bridge “for the picture.” According to the source of the agency, a total of six HIMARS missiles were fired at the bridge, no one was injured as a result of the attack.

After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, Russian troops occupied Kherson on March 3. Antonovsky bridge is the only crossing in Kherson across the Dnieper. It connects the city with the left bank of the Dnieper. Its length is about 1.4 km, and its width is 25 m. The Ukrainian military repeatedly subjected it to shelling. In particular, on August 22, at least 15 people were injured after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from HIMARS systems.

In early August, the regional administration postponed the resumption of traffic on the bridge after another attack from the Ukrainian side, as the blows hit construction equipment that was used for repairs.
