The press service of the Armenian government circulated statementwhich says that the head of state Nikol Pashinyan held telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin against the background of the aggravation of the situation on the border with Azerbaijan.
“The head of government spoke in detail about the provocative, aggressive actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the direction of the sovereign territory of Armenia, which began at midnight, which were accompanied by shelling from artillery and large-caliber firearms,” the document says.
Pashinyan, during a conversation with Putin, called the actions of the Azerbaijani side unacceptable and stressed the importance of an adequate response from the international community.
“The interlocutors agreed on operational contact,” the press service sums up.
