The Bulava ballistic missile was successfully launched from the submarine cruiser Emperor Alexander III, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.

As noted, the launch was carried out as part of the final stage of state testing.

“The new strategic nuclear-powered missile submarine Imperator Alexander III successfully launched the Bulava sea-based intercontinental ballistic missile.

The report says that the missile was launched from the White Sea, and the warheads of the missile promptly reached the final target at the Kura training ground (Kamchatka Territory). The Ministry of Defense clarified that the launch was carried out from an underwater position.

“Emperor Alexander III” is the seventh submarine cruiser of the “Borey-A” family. It is armed with 16 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles.
