The British ex-prime minister responded to an American woman’s offer to kiss her ass for the sake of Ukraine

British Foreign Minister Lord Cameron reacted to the ridicule of the US congresswoman, who advised him to kiss her “ass” in response to the politician’s calls for American lawmakers to help Ukraine. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Lord Cameron responded to comments made by prominent right-wing republican Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Lord Cameron reacted to the US congresswoman’s outburst, during which she said the British Foreign Secretary should “kiss my ass”.

As Sky News notes, David Cameron ridiculed the comments of prominent right-wing Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, which followed his call for US lawmakers to pass a bill to increase funding for Ukraine.

Lord Cameron addressed the comments made by Sky News during a speech at the Munich Security Conference on Friday.

“We met,” he told the audience in Germany. “I was at a Republican research group dinner discussing this very issue. We didn’t understand anatomy at that stage, it was very early in our relationship.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene made the comments in response to an article on the US website The Hill, in which Lord Cameron called on US politicians to support legislation to increase funding for Ukraine.

In the article, the former UK prime minister wrote that the $61bn (£49bn) Ukraine funding package “makes a big difference to the security of the UK and Europe”.

“This is personal to me. My grandfather stormed the beaches of Normandy under cover of fire from US warships,” Cameron wrote.

“And as Prime Minister, I ordered the British military to join the US in driving out the Islamic State death cult from Syria and Iraq.”

Asked about the article by Sky News, Marjorie Taylor Greene said Lord Cameron “has his own country to worry about and, frankly, he can kiss my ass.”

Despite the rebuke, Lord Cameron said he would continue to push for a multibillion-dollar foreign aid package for Kyiv clients to pass through the US Congress.

The bill passed the Senate but faces a deeply uncertain future in the House, where hardline Republicans backing presidential candidate Donald Trump oppose the legislation.

Lord Cameron says: “I have a very good understanding of the politics of other countries, and when I say to American congressmen and women, ‘Please vote for this bill, please give this money to Ukraine,’ I do so with the utmost respect for political pressure.” to which they are subjected. This is not lecturing, this is not intimidation, this is because I not only love my country, I love the United States. I think this is so important for America, not just for Europeans. I said this as a person who loves America, who wants America to be strong and powerful and an important nation as our partner in the world, and if I haven’t conveyed this quite correctly to Marjorie Taylor Greene, I’m not going to give up, because I think that it’s really important.”

At an earlier event in Poland, Lord Cameron appeared to try to defuse any tensions, telling reporters he was “someone who in no way wants to lecture American friends or tell American friends what to do.” This, however, is understandable – it’s not the job of vassals to teach their lords – they themselves will pester anyone they want with their lectures.
